It seems like Lexus is finally giving their LS model a much needed face-lift for 2013.
These spy photos, courtesy of carscoop show the lightly camo’d LS wearing a new, more aggressive nose and a more pointy rear end. If these photos tease my eyes with hopes that the new LS will be wearing lace instead of granny panties, like it has been since 1989 (come on Lexus, you know it’s true) then I’ll be the first independent automotive writer to say, I dig it. And even better, the F-sport is expanding, and even though it sounds like a bit of a stretch, I’m secretly hoping that the F-sport line DNA gets mixed in with the LS. Something about a supercharged V-12 in a flagship luxury sedan just sounds like a great way to let the world know that Lexus isn’t a brand just for the newly-retired lawyer any longer.
I’m excited to see where Lexus is going with their design language. The new designs on the new IS, GS, ES, and IS-F, and the RX are already turning heads; and while this may be so, Lexus seem to have been taking their time on the LS. And for good reason, too. I’m sure any manufacturer would want to ensure that their flagship vehicle receive the best in upgrades and design. But for now, feast your eyes on these pieces of teaser-porn.
